Scène 21 is an anthology of theater plays by contemporary female authors from France, Belgium, Canada and Switzerland translated into German. The black and white design evokes associations like shadow and light, drama and play. The bold and eye-catching typographical composition on the front cover creates tension and arouses curiosity. Three different typefaces with strong characteristics structure the text levels (they also play an important role on the Scène-Website). The varying text formats of the plays interpret the layout grid in different ways.
