Interconnection is a key element in Viktoria Binschtok’s work. It is also part of the design concept of the publication »Connection«. The images on the cover and back are two parts of a work that are connected by the spine and thus create a three-dimensional book-work-object. The 120 printing grid allows to combine a detailed and brilliantly image reproduction with the warm feel of uncoated paper. This dissolves the distance to the image and creates an intimate connection to the work. The typography with Eastern European aesthetics refers to the artist’s Russian descent, the circular O corresponds formally to the viewfinder of analog cameras. Published by Hatje Cantz.
